My name is Parin Choksi, a new choice for Brampton and your new voice in Wards 3 & 4 as a City Councillor.
A Little Overview About Me
I landed in Canada as a Permanent Resident with my wife and 3-year-old daughter in 2006 with lots of dreams in my eyes. This land gave us everything we were looking for so I always called India my “Janambhumi” (Land of Birth) and Canada my “Karambhumi” (Land of Karma).
My Mom – My Role Model
Growing up, my role model has always been my mom and she has always portrayed a Mother Teresa figure for me. I saw her helping people in my family, in our neighbourhood, in schools and everywhere. Inspired by her, I too got involved with organizations that worked closely in the areas of education, youth care, health care, and environment.
My Initial Years in Canada
After I moved to Canada I started working as a Network Engineer. Whenever I had spare time, I enjoyed helping people in need. My wife Shruti & I started a printing business in 2009. Since we had two young kids it was not easy to run the business with a full-time job. So, I decided to leave my job and join the business full-time. Today in my own capacity, I am a successful businessman of two companies and a mortgage agent, serving residents in a professional capacity. During this journey, I came across and joined lots of different NGOs, clubs, and organizations who were involved in a lot of great causes. One of my defining moves was to join the Rotary Club that was fulfilling in many ways.
Now I want to bring the same zeal and enthusiasm to work together to make Brampton even better. I am proudly rooted in the Brampton area. My commitment to family and community is the result of a life nurtured in the heart of the city. As a resident, parent and professional based in Wards 3 & 4, Brampton, I have a strong understanding of the issues and needs of the community first-hand. I know the area well and will continue working tirelessly as your City Councillor to protect our community’s best interests.
Committed to “lead positive change”
My roots are deeply embedded in the values my parents embedded in me, ‘serve to lead’ which drives me. There is such a clear opportunity for us to serve the community and it is an immense privilege for me to come to the fore. That opportunity is to exercise our purpose and serve others in creating a more prosperous society by leading Positive Change within that marketplace.
We can work together.
As City Councillor candidate, I look forward to listening to you and work hard to improving the services that are vital to making Wards 3 & 4 an amazing place to live, work and play.
My goal is to make our city a great place to live for current and future residents, and that remains my focus.
